Installation of the new parish priest at the Parish

All Saints in Toronto

"Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them - not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock" (1 Peter 5, 2-3).

Sunday, September 25, 2022, was an occasion of spiritual joy for All Saints Parish in Toronto. A new page opens in the history of this parish, which begins to be written with the name of the new parish priest – Rev. Fr. Emanuel Ionuț Țencaliuc.

On this occasion, the Divine Liturgy of the 18th Sunday after Pentecost was officiated by His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian together with Rev. Fr. Viorel Țencaliuc - dean and the newly appointed parish priest Emanuel Țencaliuc.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, as is the tradition, the hierarch handed the new parish priest the Holy Gospel saying: “This Gospel shows the message the priest must preach. It embraces the life and work of the Saviour, the wonderful works of God performed in the bosom of our humanity. This is the main mission of the priest. The Holy Cross reminds us of the need to assume the sacrificial mission of Christ in our lives and the priest must be an example. The key of the church that we offer reminds us that Christianity is a concrete faith, that it speaks of man's specific path to the kingdom of heaven. This path is the result of the experience of the Church and the concrete responsibility of guidance rests with the priest.”

The hierarch wished the new parish priest fruitful work in his pastoral activity and urged the parishioners to be support for him, remaining in unity, in reciprocal understanding and helping each other. In his sermon the Romanian hierarch particularly emphasized the virtue of faith, which is the foundation of any beginning, reminding us at this starting point of a new church year the following: "Let us walk with firmness and clear faith because our God is a mighty God. Before we cast the net to fish in the deep like the apostles, we are exhorted to detach ourselves from all that is worldly and disturbing in this swirling sea of life for the grace of God and his rich fruits are poured into our lives according to our faith. It is imperative, first of all, to put the good thought before everything and entrust ourselves to the Savior Christ as Peter did according to the words of the Gospel of the day: '[…] according to Your word I will cast the nets' (Luke 5,5)" the hierarch pointed out.

At this new beginning, Rev. Fr. Emanuel was also congratulated with fatherly warmth by Rev. Fr. Viorel Țencaliuc – dean who, in addition to words of congratulation and support, offered him a Baptism kit as a gift so that he would be a worthy minister of the Holy Mysteries.

At the end, Rev. Fr. Emanuel, with obvious emotion in his heart and voice, thanked the HG Bishop Ioan Casian, Rev. Fr. Viorel Țencaliuc, Rev. Fr. Polycarp from the Holy Cross Monastery, as well as all those close to him and his family, for the support it has enjoyed so far. In particular, he thanked the entire community for the warm welcome, for the trust given by HG Bishop Ioan Casian. Rev. Fr. Emanuel committed, with the help of the Good God, to serve the Church of Christ and the Christians, showing himself open to a good collaboration in the fulfillment of the works that will be necessary for the smooth running of the parish in which he will carry out his priestly activity.

The day ended with the Christian agape prepared for the occasion.

With joy and respect, we wish much success to Rev. Fr. Emanuel and assure him of our appreciation and support.
