On the occasion of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada’s foundation and the enthronement of His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian as the first ruling bishop you are cordially invited Sunday May 7th 2017 to be part of the program dedicated to this event:
- 9:30 – Divine Liturgy - Saint George Parish [2000 Blvd. Marie, St-Hubert, QC J4T 2B1]
- 12:00 – Service of the Enthronement of His Grace Ioan Casian
- 13:30 – Banquet [Renaissance – Centre des Congres et Banquets - 7550 Blvd. Henri-Bourassa Est, Montreal, QC H1E 1P2]
This is a historic moment for the Romanian communities in Canada highlighting a continuous presence for more than 125 years on the North-American continent. The event shows the maturity of this community, which has grown in number over the last 27 years integrating itself harmoniously in the Canadian landscape and expresses its aspiration to preserve and pass on the Christian faith. This event stresses out as well the growing importance of Christian Orthodox Church in general as an active and meaningful presence in Canada.
