St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Cathedral in Montreal Sunday afternoon was the host of the meeting - prayer on behalf of Prayer Week for Christian unity.
The central text of the ecumenical celebration was inspired by the Book of Acts of the Apostles chap. 28 where one speaks of the shipwreck of the ship in which St. Paul's Apostle was and the kindness shown by the inhabitants of the island of the shipwrecked people.
About 17 Christian denominations were present. Representatives of each Christian denomination present prayed to God for the purpose of bringing all Christians closer.
The host of the evening was Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan - Primate of the Armenian Church in Canada. Roman Catholic Archbishop of Montreal Mgr. Christian Lepine, representatives of the Anglican Church and other Protestant cults were present. The homily was held by Rev. Fr. David Margaryan.
At the end, the representatives of the Armenian cathedral offered a small reception in honor of those present.
