Between July 21 and 27 Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada holds St Theodora of Sihla Summer Camp in Mono.
The hierarch participated for four days in the activities of the youngest. The workshops this year focused on the Romanian village and the folk traditions.
We hope that our activities to plant in the souls of the children of Canada the spirit of the Christian and Orthodox Christian culture and tradition - the hierarch said.
The children participating in the third edition were divided into thematic groups by choosing the names of Romanian villages with religious, cultural or historical significance such as: Hobita, Putna, Humuleşti, Bobâlna and Şăpânţa.
The main activities were morning and evening prayers, icons painting on glass, eggs decoration, sports, hiking, archery, camp fire, riding, etc.
On Thursday, Bishop Ioan Casian celebrated the Divine Liturgy having beside Arhim. Lucian Coroi and Rev. Fr. Dean Viorel Țencaliuc.
This year, a group of volunteers from St. George's Cathedral - Windsor and St. Demetrius and Sts. Three Hierarchs - Toronto, led by Mrs. Carmen Ognean, had the responsibility to organize and supervise the smooth running of camp activities.
The camp will end on Saturday July 27 with the award ceremony of the participants.
