On the occasion of the celebration of the Holy Trinity, on June 17, Bishop Ioan Casian, was present among the faithful at the Cathedral of St. Constantine and Helen in Edmonton. Rev. Fr. George George Bâzgan the eparchial administrative-vicar, Rev. Fr. Mircea Panciuk dean for Western Canada and Deacon Severian Irina were presents.
The feasts of the Descent of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Trinity complete the Pentecost period – said the hierarch of Canada. This period of joy, light, and hope is fulfilled with a gift that means reopening the path to the kingdom of God and rebuilding human relationships on a synergy between the work of God and that of man. Faith in the Holy Trinity - a God in three person - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - helps us rethink everything in our society from God’s point of view. He created the world. By faith we know the way God wanted us humans to be and the world. Faith reveals the beauty and nobility of God regarding the man and the world. We learn the absolute altruism of God in all respects. Faith keeps us open not only to the understanding of God but to His help as far as we are concerned.
The Holy Trinity is the perfect model of human relationships through its perfection. Man is created according to the image and the likeness of God, and hence he has the instinct of the perfect relationship. The work of the grace of the resurrection through the Divine Liturgy, the Holy Mysteries, and the other services of the Church restore the health of these relationships, and repair their failures according to the faith one may has.
Father George Bâzgan thanked the hierarch for the visit and the sermon.
At the end, Bishop Ioan Casian blessed those present.
