On the occasion of the Easter celebration, H.G. Bishop Ioan Casian was present among the faithful of St. George's Cathedral in Saint-Hubert, Canada. Among the celebrants were Rev. Fr. Daniel Sandu and Rev. Fr. Traian Constantin Petre.
Bishop Ioan Casian referred to the Pastoral letter about being disciples and followers of the message of the first witnesses of the Resurrection of Christ. "The priority of our mission – the hierarch said - is to receive the transfiguring power of the Holy Spirit more than to know the years or times that the Father has placed in His dominion."
The hierarch mentioned that the centrality of the Christian message is the discovery that God is the source of all. " There is a resurrection of our faith and confession in the existence of God as the foundation of everything, and there is a resurrection of our understanding that makes us realize that we are created for eternity out of love of the One Whose generosity cannot be measured." It is necessary in this sense of a living faith that consists in the living presence of Christ in the midst of the people.
All that is necessary for the healing and salvation of man - the incarnation, the knowledge of God, the annihilation of death, and the gift of incorruptibility through the Resurrection have been fulfilled by Christ. He, through His risen Body, becomes the pillar and foundation of the resurrection of man.
Referring to the year of the Romanian village Bishop Ioan Casian showed that its life was deeply marked in the social relations by the Christian faith by freedom, communion and transparency towards God.
In conclusion, the hierarch urged those present to become living and bright examples that could respond "in a Eucharistic way" to all the situations they would encounter.
The responses at strana were given by the psaltic group of the cathedral led by Valentin Botu.
