On the occasion of the feast of St. Policarp of Smyrna, Bishop Policarp Morișca -the founder and organizer of the Romanian Orthodoxy on North-American soil - was commemorated in a memorial service, Sunday, February 24 at the St. George’s Cathedral in St-Hubert.
In the sermon pronounced on this occasion Rev. Fr. Daniel Sandu read a quotation from Bishop Policarp Moruşca’ speech held at his ordination as hierarch:
Lord and Master of my life, the spirit of deceitfulness, of the care of many, of the love of dominion and of the talk in the desert, do not give it to me. And the spirit of purity, humble thought, patience, and love, give it to you, Your servant. But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to Thy servant. Thus, Lord, King, Jesus Christ, give me strength to be able to pour out dew drops upon the souls burnt by the bitter feeling of estrangement; from the flame of my faith, I can light the candle of souls in order that all may feel one again with the mother Church and with the whole soul of our nation, the same here and everywhere. Send You, O Lord, Your Spirit, and we will be rebuilt and You will fill the earth; by giving us You, we will gather; opening up Your hand, all will be filled with goodness (Psalm 103: 29-31).

His eternal remembrance from generation to generation!
