Spring camp for children and youth St. Andrew the Apostle and St. John Casian
Location: Quebec
With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian, between March 1-5, 2024, the 5th edition of the "St. Andrew the Apostle and St. John Casian" religious camp took place, organized in the province of Quebec. The event brought together 33 children and young people from the Montreal, Gatineau and surrounding areas. The participants had unforgettable moments and a lot of good cheer in the spirit of our Christian-Orthodox faith!
In collaboration with the team of monitors, Father Grigorie Țapuc participated in the activities of the camp and animated discussions with the young people. The Sacrament of Holy Confession and the Holy Liturgy were officiated by Father Constantin Lupașcu. The kitchen team delighted the participants with a varied and elegant menu with Romanian and Canadian specifics.
Activities offered include:
- Morning and evening prayers, before and after meals;
- Catechesis: Creation of the world, Explanation of the Holy Liturgy and How to pray;
- Talks with the priest
- Sacraments of Holy Confession and Holy Communion, Holy Liturgy, liturgical chants;
- Egg decoration workshop and martișoare workshop;
- Chess tournament;
- Bonfire, archery, outdoor games.
Montreal's Datina group presented a mini dance recital, followed by a folk-dance workshop with camp participants.
