Feast of "Saint Great Martyr Mina and Saint Ephrem the New" Parish in Blainville (QC)
The parish dedicated to "Saint Great Martyr Mina and Saint Ephrem the New" from Blainville (QC), shepherded by Father Olimpiu Mărginean, celebrated five years since its foundation and one year since the purchase of the place of worship. The moment was marked on November 11 by the celebration of the Divine Liturgy by His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian. The bishop was also accompanied by Rev. Protosyncell Maxim Morariu PhD, the exarch of the monasteries from the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada.
In the homily, the hierarch spoke about the life, courage and martyrdom of the Holy Great Martyr Mina, showing that we all have something to learn from his sacrifice:
"Although he is a martyr from the early centuries of Christianity, Saint Mina conveys a message with perennial relevance. We can all learn from his courage and the firmness with which he defended his faith. The reward was on the measure of his sacrifice, because he became one of the great miracle workers of Christendom, and his fame crossed the borders of the lands where he was martyred", emphasized hierarch.
The events continued Sunday, November 13, with the Divine Liturgy, followed by a fraternal agape. Founded in 2017, the parish dedicated to "Saint Great Martyr Mina and Saint Ephrem the New" from Blainville (QC) managed, in 2021, to purchase its own place of worship. Also, during this year, thanks to the care of the parish priest and the faithful, it was possible to purchase festive and royal icons.
