The beginning of the new ecclesiastic year at the Episcopal Cathedral "Saint George the Great Martyr" from Saint-Hubert, Quebec
The beginning of the new ecclesiastic year was marked at the "Saint George the Great Martyr" Episcopal Cathedral in Saint-Hubert, Quebec with a suite of liturgical events. They were presided over by His Grace Ioan Casian, the Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Canada.
The prayer began with the services of the first and third Hours, followed by the Divine Liturgy. Then the first Romanian Bishop of Canada celebrated the service of the Tedeum to mark the moment. At the end of the event, His Grace sent a message to the participants marking the moment:
„The ecclesiastical year and the examples of the saints direct our gaze and life to the example and life of Christ. Looking at the tradition of the church, of the ecclesiastical year, and entering into it, we look and enter into the experience of understanding and living with Christ. We enter as people into the mystery of Christ's life and sacrifice. This entering into the sacrifice, death, resurrection, ascension of Christ and descend of the Holy Spirit and receiving it as God's gift for our redemption and salvation is what we try to accomplish during an ecclesiastical year. In this way we have Christ present in our midst both externally and existentially, internally, in our life. In Him and in His experience of life we find the solution to all our existential problems”, underlined the bishop.
May God bless all Christians with a joyful new ecclesiastical year. Praised be the Lordfor everything!
